Baked Hotdogs

The Best Dressed Chicken
Yield: 6 hot dogs, Prep time: 5 minutes, Cook time: 30 minutes
  • 6 Best Dressed Chicken Premium Chicken Franks
  • 6 hot dogs buns, top cut
  • 6 strips of bacon
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ½ white onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • Ketchup
Baked Hotdogs
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Use a strip of bacon and wrap the frankfurter and secure with a toothpick. In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the hot dogs and cook over medium heat until they are starting to blister on all sides, 4 to 5 minutes. Don’t overcook them.
  • *Optional - In the same pan, add diced onion and sugar. On low heat, cook for 10 minutes or until onions are soft and sugar is dissolved.
  • To assemble the hot dogs, make a slit on the top of the buns and place the seared hot dogs in the buns and place in a large baking dish. Top with grated cheese and caramelized onions and your favourite toppings, pineapple, jalapenos.
  • Remove the hot dogs from the oven
  • Bake the hot dogs for about six minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the hot dog buns are toasted.
  • Leftovers don’t really keep, so make only as many as you want to eat!
